I'm really excited about these projects, which amount to new material and new directions for me and my work.

But I am writing you today for something especially exciting.

My Pendle Hill Pamphlet #500 - God Bless the Grass: Liturgies of Imperialism, Liturgies of Resistance has been released and is now available for purchase on the Pendle Hill website. PH Bookstore.

The Pamphlet sighted at the NEYM bookstore this past weekend along with my book "Resisting Empire" and the book I contributed to, "We Cry Justice." Gretchen the bookstore manager there was on the ball!

A couple notes on the pamphlet:

  1. This is a standalone volume but works well as a sequel to Resisting Empire: The Book of Revelation as Resistance.
  2. The pamphlet ends with some practical suggestions about things faith Quaker meetings and faith communities can to practice resistance through liturgical framing.
  3. I'm really excited about the cover of the pamphlet (the main image for this post). The print was done specifically for this project from my of students at Guilford College, Parker O'Keefe who graduated this year and was in the Quaker Leadership Scholars Program. All of her art is really good.

Lastly, you're invited to join this free event next Monday celebrating the publishing of Pendle Hill's 500th pamphlet. I will be talking mostly about the pamphlet but will frame it within the conversation of "The Lamb's War as Endless Revolution" which is another thread I've been working on over the last year.
